Fluweel - 75cl

Fluweel is a surprising blend combining raspberries and (Muscat Bleu) grapes, the latter sourced from Switzerland but also grown in Belgium.  

It features a rather funky and earthy, yet highly fruity aroma of distinct red raspberries and red grapes, although less pronounced in their pure "grape-like" manner compared to the raspberries, and presenting themselves differently. Notes include countryside fields, cooked heirloom tomatoes, damp hay in late summer, moist clay, farmhouse essence, raw red cabbage, red beets, stewed blue plums (likely influenced by the Muscat grapes), purple gooseberries, red currants, wet wood, tomato concentrate (certainly from the raspberries), Greek yogurt, and Roosvicée.  

The taste begins with a berry-like, juicy tartness, initially very raspberry-forward with a sharp lemony edge and a milder, tomato-like sweet-sour-umami combination, both refined and enhanced by the Muscat grapes, which contribute vinous and fleshy qualities. A sharp lemony edge runs along the sides, intensified by sparkling "champenoise" carbonation. 

The mouthfeel is very rounded, full, almost creamy, with a "deep" yogurt-like lactic acidity guiding the interplay of bready, fruity, tart, and fleshy flavors - with wood gradually emerging towards the finish, tannin-like and slightly vanilla-like in combination with the seeds and skins of the fruit.
